Do you often feel there’s something wrong with you?
Or that your body needs fixing because - let's face it - you’re ‘broken’?
Well, here’s a thought: what if there’s nothing wrong with you at all?
Rather - what if your body, in all it’s wisdom, simply KNOWS that certain foods you’ve been eating, or environmental toxins you’ve been exposed to, are anathema to what it really needs?
Could it be that your aches and pains (and fatigue) are simply the language your body is using to ALERT you – subtly or not - what steps you need to take in order to feel well?
That’s a lot of questions, I know.
But seriously – if your body isn’t happy right now, what steps are you taking to calm your body down, and let it know you’re listening?
When it comes to a healthy home environment, I have a hard time keeping quiet.
Can’t help it – it’s the interior designer in me! (Have you seen my new website – The Holistic Home?)
What does your living space say about you?
This is a question I’ve often asked – especially in my designer days. It’s your home, after all. Your bedroom. Your entry. Your sacred space.
What does it say about you? What does it tell others without you saying a word? Have you ever considered that the state of your home could speak such things?
“Detoxing” is a word that’s thrown around a lot these days – especially at the start of a New Year!
Yet whether a Detox, Cleanse or you’re dieting to lose weight, they’re all variations of the same thing.
True, there are tons of celebrity cleanses and “detoxes” out there. But I’m not talking about juice fasts or lemonade diets.
What I’m talking about here is something different.
Things like fasting are all short term modifications to your diet, and while they can help to “reset” healthy eating habits – and kick-start weight loss - they almost never address the actual chemical toxins in our lives to begin with.
The thing is: these toxins in your environment can actually contribute to weight gain!
And that’s what I’m talking about here - your body’s NATURAL detoxification process. Do you know what they are?

A New Year is upon us and cool things are happening at my end.
Design A Healthy Life is getting a face-lift! That’s right – it’s morphing into “The Holistic Home”. Details coming soon!
Meanwhile, I can’t think of a better way to embrace these new beginnings – and the New Year – other than giving your body a little TLC after the indulgences of the holiday season.
I have lots of ways to help you do that, of course! In the meantime, to end this year-long celebration of my educational video series A Gluten Primer – Everything You Wanted to Know From A-Z, you can check out the new website here.
Wishing you a safe and Happy 2018!
Sometimes it can feel downright overwhelming to get your health back on track!
You want to eat better – and you’ve tried – but despite your best efforts it still isn’t happening.
You try to go to bed earlier, but get sidelined watching a favorite late-night show on TV.
Or, you’re convinced that you do your best work late at night. (more on that later).
You have days, perhaps, when you really feel like crap – and that’s when you tell yourself (again) that you really, really need to get a handle on things.
We’ve all had days like that, right?
Yet even when you know better, it’s often hard to begin.
My advice? Slow down. Take baby steps.
Pick one of the following, to start – yes, just 1! (After all, you have to start somewhere).
Clean Up Your Diet
This alone does several things, since removing inflammatory foods like gluten, sugar and even dairy helps to:
Could you have a sensitivity to Gluten & not know it? Yes!
In fact, gluten sensitivity is even MORE common than Celiac Disease. For the latest, most up-to-date info - check out "A GLUTEN PRIMER - EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW FROM A-Z".
It's my educational series of short, easily digestible (pardon the pun) videos that take you through the world of gluten & a host of related issues. (Leaky Gut, inflammation, how to get accurate testing & more).
Removing gluten from your diet is a safe, effective & potentially life-saving approach if:
The holidays are upon us, and for many it’s the most challenging time of the year.
The heavy emphasis on love and joy, family togetherness and endless festivities can easily take you down, special diet or not.
Worse still, what if the holidays find you alone?
What if you’re dealing with a recent break-up, an illness, or worse still – a death in the family?
Can you relate?
While there’s no question these things are difficult any time of the year, the pain and heartache increases ten-fold during the month of December.
